Photos of George Hi Plantation
A large tract of land along the Little Coharie Creek, owned for more than 100 years by the George Highsmith family, was acquired by the DuBose family back in the 1940’s. For Generations, the DuBose family has called this beautiful tract of land George Hi Plantation in honor of the family that had owned and cared for it so many years. Many of the historic buildings still stand as does the old plantation home built circa 1855. For the last 70 years, the DuBose family has caringly managed George Hi to deliver a truly southern quail hunting experience for guests, friends and family.
The hunting operation is supported by almost 1000 acres of mature quail habitat, experienced guides and well-trained bird dogs and English Cocker Spaniels. The lodging and dining operation comprises an eight-bedroom Lake Lodge with lakefront gazebo, a three-bedroom 1855 Guest House, and a dedicated staff to ensure our guests enjoy the perfect southern hunting plantation experience.
Every year, from October 1st through March 31st, the family opens this spectacular property to hunters from across the nation who come for some of the best quail hunting in the south.
